This news item serves to:
introduce the new GLOCMS Community app which replaces the GLOVisitor app currently in use at Welgevonden Estate;
mention the timeline for implementing GLOCMS; and
explain the easy-to-follow steps for current users of the GLOVisitor app to change over to the new app.
The GLOCMS Community app
The GLOCMS Community app will be replacing the GLOVisitor app currently in use at Welgevonden Estate. It is a content management system similar to what users of the GLOVent app are used to (including the ability to give visitors access to the estate), but with improved features, functionality, and ease of use. It also offers a broader scope of functions and an enhanced user experience to the administrative users who manage and utilise the backend of the system.
Apart from the new app’s improved functionality, it is also important to take note that the current GLOVisitor app has reached its end-of-life cycle, and that developer support for the app has come to an end. Replacing it with the new, advanced GLOCMS Community app, therefore stands to reason.
Timeline for implementing GLOCMS
GLOCMS Community will be replacing GLOVisitor on 1 June 2022. Current GLOVisitor users must therefore download and activate the GLOCMS Community app before then (see more detail on how to do it below).
GLOVisitor’s functionality will end on 31 May 2022. If you have not downloaded and activated the GLOCMS Community app before this date, the old Glovisitor app will prompt you to switch over to the new app.
How to download and activate the GLOCMS Community app
The GLOCMS Community app is available free of charge on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and the AppGallery (please see the links below).
Existing users of the GLOVisitor app: Please follow these steps on your mobile device to download and activate the app:
Download the GLOCMS Community App from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or the AppGallery, depending on your mobile device’s operating system. (Search for GLOCMS Community, or see the download links below.)
When downloaded, click on Sign up in the line Don’t have a GLO-ID? Sign up at the bottom of the screen.
Complete the next page (Sign Up) as follows:
GLO-ID: Type in the username of your choice. (Note: The username consists of one word, all lowercase – for example, should you type in “James le Roux”, the app will automatically change it to “jamesleroux”.)
E-mail address: Type in the e-mail address with which you are registered on the Welgevonden Estate database.
Mobile number: Enter your mobile number.
Complete the rest of the required information (first name, surname, password, confirm password).
Accept the Terms and Conditions
Click on Sign Up.
Confirm your details on the next page and, when correct, click on Submit.
You will receive a verification code via SMS. Enter this code into the confirmation code field on the next screen on your device. Submit.
You will receive a message to allow GLOCMS to send you notifications. Click Allow.
On the next screen that comes up, select Join a Community, and then Welgevonden Estate Stellenbosch. (Important: Make sure you select Welgevonden Estate STELLENBOSCH, and not Welgevonden Estate Durbanville, as this is also an option to choose from!) Should the name not be displayed, click on the Search tab and type in Welgevonden Estate Stellenbosch.
Click on the on-screen invitation to join the Welgevonden Estate Stellenbosch community. This step will verify your details on the Welgevonden Estate database and link the GLOCMS Community app to your Welgevonden Estate account.
Note: The above procedure only applies to those who are already registered on the Welgevonden Estate database and who are currently using the GLOVisitor app. It will not work for new users. New users should register at Welgevonden Estate’s administrative office.
