Dear Welgevonden Estate Homeowners and Residents

Opinion survey: Welgevonden Park facilities

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the recent opinion survey on the use of the Welgevonden Park tennis and padel courts, swimming pool, and clubhouse. The feedback we received has been valuable in confirming Excom’s current viewpoint, while also highlighting additional suggestions and requests from residents. Your input will help guide the final decisions on how the facilities are managed and operated.

Progress update: Welgevonden Park

Despite a two-week delay caused by recent heavy rains, construction of Welgevonden Park is progressing well. To make good use of available working time, the contractor will be on site for several upcoming Saturdays from 08:00 to 14:00, starting on 26 July 2025. The work will be limited to activities that generate minimal noise to avoid unnecessary disturbance to residents.

Personal safety outside Welgevonden Estate

Estate management has been notified of cyclists having been robbed of their bicycles on the access road to Welgevonden Estate from the R304. Unfortunately, incidents of this nature do occur, which reinforces  the importance of remaining vigilant at all times.

If any incident occurs that compromises your personal safety near the estate or on the approach roads, please report it to the South African Police Service Cloetesville (Tel: 021 888 5940) and to the Welgevonden Estate office. Having a formal record of such incidents enables us to raise concerns through the appropriate SAPS channels and Community Police Forums.

As a precaution, we strongly advise residents – particularly women – not to walk, hike, or jog alone outside the estate. Rather join others and stay in groups, where safety is generally enhanced.

While Welgevonden Estate provides a secure environment, the responsibility for personal and family safety ultimately begins with yourself. Stay alert, lock your home and vehicle, and be aware of your surroundings. Developing a habit of attentiveness at home can help ensure you're equally cautious elsewhere. Sadly, this level of awareness is a reality of life in most public spaces across the country.

Expiry of access privileges following rental contract termination

As a reminder, tenants at Welgevonden Estate should take note that access to the estate via the biometric access control system is automatically deactivated when their rental contract expires. Once the contract has ended, tenants will no longer be able to gain entry by using the hand scanners at the estate’s security entrances.

If you are renewing your rental contract, please submit a copy of the new agreement to the Welgevonden Estate office as soon as it’s signed. This will ensure uninterrupted biometric access. Without a valid contract on file, your biometric and app access will expire, and security staff will not be able to grant you entry to the estate.

Xone Security Employee of the Month

As Welgevonden Estate’s appointed security service provider, Xone Security maintains a rigorous programme of training, re-training, and continuous staff evaluation. This is in line with strict operational procedures to ensure consistently high performance from their teams.

Against this background, we extend our congratulations to Mr Ntlonti Siphenathi, who has been recognised as Xone Security’s Employee of the Month for July 2025 – a well-deserved acknowledgement of his professionalism, dedication, and hard work.
