Welgevonden Estate: Estate manager’s newsletter: 9 September 2021

Dear Homeowners and Residents

With the unexpected cold spells we recently had, I’m sure you will agree that one has to be cautious when making predictions about the weather. However, I think we can safely accept that spring has arrived … at last!

And to celebrate this special season, we have again positioned colourful baskets of flowers on the lamp posts in Welgevonden Boulevard – something which has become a wonderful annual routine by now!

A new look for our website!

Spring is also a good season to launch Welgevonden Estate’s new-look website!

Our new website is part of the WHOA’s initiative to upgrade the estate’s corporate image, and to keep the appearance and functionality of the website in line with the latest trends.

Our aim was to give the website a fresh look and feel, and to incorporate the new colour palette of the estate’s corporate image while doing so. We have also added the details of the accredited estate agencies and estate agents on a dedicated page.

Garden-of-the-Year Competition 2021

We are delighted to announce that Leapfrog Properties Stellenbosch will be sponsoring this year’s Welgevonden Estate Garden-of-the-Year Competition! This competition aims to acknowledge and reward Welgevonden Estate residents who make a difference in their neighbourhood by taking pride in their gardens.

Entries will be open from Monday 25 October until Friday 29 October 2021. Judging will take place on 1 and 2 November, with prize winners announced on 4 November. Four prizes are at stake – first prize Garden-of-the-Year 2021, runner-up Garden-of-the-Year 2021, a prize for the most water-wise indigenous garden and – recently added – a prize for the best newly-established garden!

We look forward to all gardening folk entering for the competition! Entry forms will be made available closer to the time.

The coffee aroma continues!

Stellenbrew Coffee Bar’s takeaway coffee kiosk on the estate has been such a success during its trial period that Excom has decided to make their presence ongoing. A semi-permanent structure for the coffee facility, which will blend in with the aesthetics of the estate, will soon be set up on the triangular green area across the road from where the trailer is currently located.

Thank you to all residents for supporting this initiative. A big thank you also to Dawied Viljoen of Stellenbrew Coffee Bar and his team of delightful baristas for the service they render, and for the role they play to further enhance community life on our estate!

Rental agreements

We wish to express our appreciation towards the rental estate agents for the way in which they comply with the guidelines as far as rental administration and interaction with the estate’s administrative office go. By following the correct procedures and giving your tenants the correct guidance with respect to renting on Welgevonden Estate, you greatly contribute towards efficiency when it comes to registering new tenants on the estate’s database and biometric access control system.

At the same time we appeal to owners who do the rental administration of their properties themselves, to also adhere to the same procedures. In this regard we wish to highlight the following:

  • Please inform the estate administrative office timeously about new tenants moving in.

  • Also inform the office about existing tenants who might be moving out before the end of their rental term. This will allow us to remove their details from the biometric access control system when they move out.

  • Make sure new tenants bring a copy of their signed rental agreement with them when they come to register on the estate’s database. Without the rental agreement, they will not be able to register.

Please click here for information on how to register as a Welgevonden Estate resident.

Concluded – relocating certain sections of the security fence on the eastern boundary

The work to relocate certain sections of the security fence on the eastern boundary of Welgevonden Estate has been finalised. Thank you to those who were affected by the relocation activities for your cooperation and patience!

AGM 2021

Best regards
