Dear Welgevonden Estate Homeowners and Residents
WHOA AGM 2025
This year’s WHOA Annual General Meeting will take place earlier in the week than usual, namely at 18:00 on Monday 24 November 2025.
As the 2024 AGM venue at neighbouring Weltevreden Estate is unavailable due to construction, we look forward to welcoming you this year instead at the Doornbosch Hall on the R44 in Stellenbosch, near Die Boord shopping centre. A map with directions to the venue, along with the meeting documents, will be made available soon.
We encourage all residents to save the date and join us for this important community event.
Statutory documents
All the statutory documents governing the Welgevonden Home Owners’ Association and the Welgevonden Estate community are always available on the Welgevonden Estate website. These are the following:
WHOA Constitution
WHOA Estate Rules
WHOA Architectural Directives and Design Guidelines
WHOA Control Measures regulating services and building work
When consulting any of these documents, please use the website versions to ensure you are referring to the latest approved editions.
The same applies to any references to these statutory documents in correspondence received by members and residents. The Welgevonden Estate office will always refer to the latest approved versions, but correspondence from other parties may not. Please ensure you check and verify the version numbers against those published on the website.

2025 Garden-of-the-Year competition
Thank you to everyone who entered the 2025 Garden-of-the-Year competition. Judging will take place during the last week of October, with the winners announced the following week.
While on the topic of gardening, and as we are moving into summer, we encourage all residents to keep their gardens and driveways well maintained. Regular mowing of lawns, trimming of trees and plants, and weeding of gardens, driveways, access ramps and pavements help preserve the overall appearance of Welgevonden Estate and contribute to all properties looking pristine.
Kindly ensure that pavements, driveways, ramps, and other paved areas are kept free of weeds, as these areas are highly visible and weeds are particularly unsightly.
Important parking notice
We remind residents that public parking on Welgevonden Estate is limited. To ensure everyone has fair access, please park on your own property and avoid using public areas or pavements, unless you have a special permit. Let’s all do our part to keep visitor parking bays available for their intended purpose – parking for visitors!
Please click here for more information about Welgevonden Estate’s parking control measures.

Submit lease agreements early to avoid the November rush
Most lease agreements at Welgevonden Estate run annually, and typically conclude or renew at the end of November.
With the year-end fast approaching, we encourage landlords, tenants, and estate agents to submit fully completed new agreements as soon as they’re finalised, rather than leaving it to the last minute. Make sure that lease agreements are signed by both the tenant and landlord (owner) of the property. Please submit your documentation via e-mail to the following e-mail address: admin@welgevonden.co.za.
Carols by Candlelight
According to the organisers, this year’s annual Carols by Candlelight community event on 13 December 2025 will be bigger than ever, even with an exciting new name on the way!
Mark your calendars for this joyous family event – a magical evening of music, singing, lights, and holiday spirit!
Best regards
